Sun, Sand, Sea And A Little Beach Hut Called Harley

It’s the day after our trip to the beach and I can honestly say that it was one of our best days of the summer. We are all still sporting our ‘beach faces’ *ridiculously happy beaming faces which are glowing with sun kisses and salt spray.

We LOVE the beach, especially Little Button and I. If you are a regular reader of our blog, you will know that I find London life a bit of a squish when it comes to outdoor space. So for me, escaping City life every now and again is a must.

Finding Millie’s Beach Huts

A few weeks ago and completely by chance, I saw a lovely photo of a gorgeous pink beach hut on Lucy’s Instagram from Dear Beautiful. Wow! This turned out to be the infamous ‘Millie’. It looked incredible, and after a bit of messaging I found out that it was one of a set of beach huts owned by the talented Vicky from Millie’s Beach Huts. A quick check of location, Walton-On-Naze, and I was pretty clueless as to where it was. Beach has always means a trip to the South Coast for me, so I left it there.

It wasn’t until I mentioned it in passing to Mr Button a couple of weeks later, cue a lot of google maps investigating, that I realised that Walton-On-Naze was just over 1 hour and a half drive from London! Oh my goodness! How could we have missed it! Am I the only one who didn’t realise that this? I feel like I have made the find of the century.

A Little Beach Hut Called Harley

Quick sticks *as you can imagine, I made a beeline for Millie’s Beach Huts to see if we could grab an August booking. I knew it was unlikely, but as I always say… you just never know. And guess what, as if by fate, Vicky was about to release booking dates for a new little beach hut called Harley. Hurrah!

Visiting The beach Will Never Be The Same

We all whooped and gasped with delight on opening the beach hut doors to Harley.

Words still escape me now. So much care and attention has gone into creating a beautiful piece of beach paradise. For me, it was absolutely perfect for our family.

Harley comes fully kitted out with little luxuries that will make your beach stay even sunnier. From the fabulously kitsch deco, to extras such as a box of buckets and spades, everything is there.

What about the beach?

Walton-On-Naze is a glorious sandy beach. It does have a pier, though we didn’t have a chance to explore it as most of our day was spent making sand castles and searching for treasure!

What better way to end a day out at the beach than with a fish and chip supper with a view.

Oh wow what a gorgeous little space! I’ve never thought to use a beach hut before but this is something I would actually now consider because these are stunning and always great to have a bit of private inside space to sit and watch the world go by inbetween making sand castles and jumping waves! #dreamteam

oh what a beautiful post! You’re so right, though – the beach will never be the same – we hired a beach hut in Frinton – just along the coast from Walton – just makes it the best beach day ever doesn’t it?! Beautiful photos #DreamTeam

Oh Harley is GORGEOUS! I love beach holidays but we’ve never had a beach hut. It looks fab. And I bet it really makes “beaching” easier to have a proper base to explore the beach from. #DreamTeam

What wonderful images you paint and I love the pictures too.
I’ve only heard of that place because my daughter went for a school trip or else it would have been a hidden gem I’d have never heard of #DreamTeam

OOOHH!!! I LOVE this! Beach huts! We don’t have that here where we are but I have heard of them. It looks awesome and beats sitting on a beach towel and having sand all over your food. I do hope somebody opens a few here. Thanks for hosting #DreamTeam

I live in Suffolk and I went to Walton quite a few times as a child – it’s beautiful! My sister doesn’t live far from there now so I really should go again. I love your pictures, you do all look gorgeous and happy. I was debating the merits of a beach hut with my other half recently, love the idea of renting one – it looks so pretty and it makes the day that much easier. Glad you had such a wonderful time. #dreamteam

That beach hut is adorable – it’s so perfectly cute and beachy. The Popple still isn’t that big into beaches – she’s a bit put off by sand – but I hope that will change as she gets older. I know what you mean about missing outdoor space – I feel the same sometimes living in Glasgow, but it’s nice knowing the coast is only an hour away! #DreamTeam

I can totally understand you. I simply LOVE the Beach. We have a house to the beach in our country. This summer I stayed there with my son for one and a half month. I recharged my batteries from the big city life and my son was happy to go to the beach every day, swim in the sea and play with sand.
Waiting for the next summer 😉
Ooohhh… I love the beach houses from the photos.

Aaaahhhh. (sigh). I feel like I’ve just enjoyed a little taste of summer just reading this post. My friend hires a beach hut at Bridlington each summer and we always go and spend a day with her – it’s brilliant to have somewhere just to plug in a kettle and store a few chairs and buckets and spades. This is taking beach huts to a whole new level though! I mean seriously – it is stunning! I really enjoyed reading this hon. A very sunny smiley post. Thanks for linking with #fartglitter x

This is so cool. I absolutely love the concept. Can adults just go too or is it designed with families in mind. The sandy beach looks great too.

So I’ve finally gotten round to reading your post that I saved, so sorry! And wow, isn’t it gorgeous?! Love the little touches like the cake stand and board games, imagine celebrating a birthday or other celebration there? It looks like Harley is on the front tier of huts too? So wish you had been there the day we were there as we could’ve met up! Next time! xxx

I absolutely love being by the sea and have often coveted a beach hut! We live too far away from this beauty, but really loved your post and fabulous beach hut pics. What a wonderful business Millie’s Beach Huts is. #SharingtheBlogLove

I’ve seen these on a few Instagram accounts and they look fabulous – such a cute little space! Harley is adorable! We are real beach babies too, but like you I feel we live that little bit too far from any beach to be there regularly. There’s something so calming about being by the sea I think. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at #SharingtheBlogLove
