Best children’s waterproof coat

December 15, 2015

Following our toddler puddle suit epic fail and raincoat zip rip incident I had completely given up on waterproofs. ‘What’s the point of them!’, I mumbled miserably at Daddy Button whilst handing over a Peppa Pig umbrella to a delighted Little Button.

She immediately flung the thing open and merrily skipped around waving it everywhere, poking us as she went.

I had tried a number of different brands of waterproofs. Either the hood was way too small and only partially covered Little Buttons ginormous normal sized head. Or else the hood would be so big that I swear you could fit not just 1 but 2 heads into it! There seemed to be nothing in between.

Luckily for us, I got some lovely comments following our disaster with the puddle suit and this revealed a recommended children’s waterproof brand that I had not heard of before: Kozi Kidz.

I placed an order with Wet Wednesdays, a fab online shop who have great deals on the Kozi Kidz Fleece Lined Coat range, and the coat arrived 2 days later (talk about speedy service!) and just in time for our visit to Lapland UK.

Tried and tested

The Kozi Kidz fleece lined coat was everything that it promised to be: bright, warm and waterproof. Ultimately, the moment of truth was when we tried the peaked hood on Little Buttons head… it fitted perfectly!!!

Cue: high fives, cheers of joy and general celebratory mummy dancing around the front room. YESSS!!!

The coat was tried and tested on a cold, breezy evening out to Lapland UK and as you can see, it got a big thumbs up from Little Button.

We are on our second Kozi Kidz Suit from Wet Wednesdays (Fleece lined jacket and trousers) and they are totally Fab. They wash well too, and more importantly they stay water proof. I would recomend these to everyone. The only down side is they don’t come in adult sizes! :0)

I’ve heard great things about Kozi Kidz. My little boy is almost out of his current coat, so will check them out for his next one. #whatevertheweather

They are so brilliant aren’t they and the prices are incredible. We can’t get over how snug and warm they stay in them too. I absolutely adore the design you’ve chosen. It’s such a pretty colour. Thank you so much for linking up to #whatevertheweather this year and supporting our linky! We really love reading about your family adventures. I hope we see you again next year. Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas! xx

  4. Glad you managed to find a jacket you are happy with. Hate hoods on jackets as they never stay up with M and it is so frustrating. Why do hoods have to be so big?

I’m so glad that they fit well over her head! I know how hard it can be to find a great fitting waterproof, but Kozi Kidz really are fab, the reflectors are excellent for this time of year and I love the stars print you chose. It looks like you’ll be having lots of fun outdoors now you’re fully equipped! Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather this year, I love reading your blog, have an amazing 2016. Happy New Year! 🙂 x

  6. Thank you for your lovely comments guys. Tomos at Kozi Kidz has loved hearing this, as do we at WW basecamp on the “hill” (£10 sale on right now BTW!) xxx

  7. Ive not heard of this brand before either but it looks great! I also like the fact that it has reflectors on it, we live in the middle of no where so that would be really handy!!
