Boxcitement Review

May 31, 2016

Hands up anyone who loves stationary, crafts and oh-so-pretty trinkets? Keep your hands up if you like surprises…. still up? Then this gorgeous subscription box with a twist will be perfect for you. Boxcitement is a fantastic monthly subscription box that comes beautifully packaged and packed full of exclusive little gifts, stationary and homeware. I was so excited when the lovely team at Boxcitement said that they would be sending me a box to try out. It’s not often that I get treats sent my way, unless you count the objects that Little Button finds around the house then gifts to me wrapped up in screwed up paper, so, as you can imagine it’s been difficult to contain myself.

Special delivery

Boxcitement arrived in a letterbox friendly package. Its understated outer packaging only added to the mystery and on opening, with a burst of colour it was revealed that I had received the perfectly timed May Fayre themed box. A card on the inside lid of the box explains what you will find inside, but to be honest, I was so excited that I glanced at the card, took in the idea of the theme, a quick photo for good measure, and then opened it! I mean… it’s not every day that I get a mystery box all to myself.

A feast for the eyes

Once inside, the first thing that I really noticed is how gorgeous the contents looked. Like a thoughtful gift, prettily wrapped up in a way that only a best friend pulls off. Straight away I could picture giving the Boxcitement monthly subscription box as a present to someone. The included items could even be given as individual pieces in their own right.

Take a peek at my Boxcitement

All the items included in my May Fayre box complimented the theme. They really do capture the playful essence of a summer day out at the fayre. Here is what was inside.

Two cards with envelopes in playful graphic designs. As a parent, I find I can never have enough of these type of cards. Think RSVP’s, playdate invites, thank you notes and last second remembered birthday cards.

Three gift tags which match the cards. It’s birthday season right now, so these will definitely come in handy.

A goldfish! Yes… really a goldfish. This has been designed to be worn as a brooch. When not being worn, Goldie can be popped into his free-standing goldfish bowl. How cute is that. I am going to keep my new pet goldfish at work on my desk. I am sure he will be the talk of the office in no time at all.

A pink retro lollipop. This brought back memories of going to the fayre and riding the dodgems when I was a teenager! I haven’t quite been able to bring myself to eating it yet given that it looks so good. But I am sure it does taste wonderful.

A rubber purse…  I actually had one of these as a teenager and it did come to the fayre with me, so this was a lovely surprise.

A motivational print. This would look lovely framed in our home office.

A make your own planner clip set. This completely bamboozled me at first, but after having a closer look, this looks like a wonderful project to do with Little Button. The idea is that you can shrink the characters in the oven to form feature planner clips, pendants or keyrings. Exciting stuff.

Lastly, my favourite, a make your own mini bunting kit. I love bunting, so this is something that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on.

Hi Catie, lots of people send Boxcitement as a gift to friends and loved ones. You can also leave a personal message to go in the gift which we will hand write on a gift card and pop in the box. All the best, Pierre @Boxcitement
