L.O.L. Surprise Eye Spy Under Wraps Review

October 15, 2018

The brilliant creators over at L.O.L. Surprise have done it again! Not only are the adorable L.O.L. Surprise dolls back with a new series, but this time the concept has been revamped to reveal a whole new unwrapping experience. I don’t think anyone saw it coming! Can you tell this one has been itching to get her hands on the brand new L.O.L. Surprise Eye Spy Under Wraps series?

L.O.L. Surprise Eye Spy Under Wraps

I think this might be our favourite yet. Here’s how Little Button got on.

Unboxing L.O.L. Surprise Eye Spy Under Wraps

The most noticeable change is that there isn’t an L.O.L. Surprise ball to unwrap. Everything is about the balls these days, so it’s lovely to see L.O.L. making a break and bossing it in a whole new direction. Instead, L.O.L. Surprise Eye Spy Under Wraps come in a capsule shaped pod.

It has the same familiar branding which we all love. But with the extra space, creators have been able to include additional graphics which show what you can expect to find inside from the 15 surprises. This is a welcome touch, especially if you are new to the range.

The capsule has the familiar zipper to get you started on unwrapping the first layer, maintaining that lovely pass the parcel feel. And once unzipped, you’ll find a brilliantly themed surprise.

A mini eye spy glass. How cute is that! This little eye spy glass is key to the unwrapping and revealing fun, so make sure you keep hold of it so you can discover secret messages hidden along the way.

Once all the packaging is off, you’ll be left with your L.O.L. Surprise capsule (yay!), your mini spy glass (so you can get your detective game on), a secret message to reveal (so you can have a guess at who’s inside) and a code sheet to unlock your capsule. Exciting stuff!

We love how you can see your new L.OL. Surprise doll in disguise through the clear side of the capsule. Yes. In disguise! Its brilliant isn’t it.

Nearly there

If your little one loves the suspense of opening something, then this L.O.L. Surprise series is for you. The clever creators have figured out a way of deliciously prolonging the reveal by making little detectives work for their prize. A series of cleverly concealed compartments are on lock down until you are able to break the code using your code sheet and mini spy glass.

It’s lots of fun and the wait makes it even more exciting. Here’s what Little Button found in the blind bags along with her disguised L.O.L. Surprise doll. Who knows who will be hiding in there?!

L.O.L. Surprise!

Little Button couldn’t wait to reveal which doll she had and the disguise came off quicker than I could shout ‘slow down’. It was just too exciting for her.

Top tip: We found that if you carefully pull and peel away the disguise, you can actually keep this as an extra ‘outfit’ to dress your dolls up in. Isn’t she adorable!

Our overall thoughts

Little Button was super impressed with this L.O.L. Surprise Eye Spy Under Wraps doll.

She particularly loved the theme of playing at spies and revealing the secret messages and codes as she went on. Pink is her favourite colour, so this dolls shock-pink outfit got a huge thumbs up too. I’ve found that she plays with the capsule more than she has done with the balls from previous series. Making it an outfit changing room for fashion shows, as well as a little house or hideaway. She also loves to display her doll in the capsule, which makes sense as there seems to be more space for storing all the accessories neatly, as well as the clear window.

L.O.L. Surprise Eye Spy Under Wraps retail at £14.99 which is reasonable for a toy like this in our opinion.

They can be a bit tricky to get hold of as they are so very popular so we always keep our eyes open in Smyths, The Entertainer, Argos and other good toy retailers.

L.O.L. Surprise Eye Spy Under Wraps are fun, sassy and bring all the surprises to the table… and more.

I love the ‘pass the parcel’ unwrapping – such a fun way to receive a new toy! And the spy games are genius too; I know a lot of small kids who’d love one of these 🙂
