Our Summer Bucket List

August 20, 2017

I’ve only somehow gone and completely forgotten to publish our summer bucket list! Opps. We’ve had a super busy couple of months and time has been running away with itself. I’m writing this on a soggy wet tube platform with umbrella collected rain water splashing into my shoes. Great. It’s meant to be August, but I’m pretty sure someone forgot to tell that to the weather. Luckily, we’ve been ticking bits off our list since June! Phewwww. Here’s our summer bucket list.

1. Visit Peppa Pig World

Little Button still adores Peppa. I can’t blame her. The cuteness and simple non-complicated storylines are perfect for summer lazy day watching. I’m secretly thrilled as we all love Peppa pig world. I may cry when she’s out grown it, but luckily Paultons Park promises lots of thrills for when that time comes.

Bucket List

2. A Garden Tea Party With #PeppaPlayDays

Little Buttons was thrilled to be asked to join in with the Peppa Pig #PeppaPlayDays campaign. She’s been spoilt rotten with a huge bundle of Peppa fun to keep her happy and entertained over the summer. We’ve already been scooting across parks on a super Peppa scooter, playing at Peppa Pig camper vans in the front room with a fab pop-up tent and keeping topped up with cool Peppa drinks at the beach. Next on the list is a garden tea party with a musical Peppa tea set. It’s so cute and whisks me right back to memories of Peppa Pig World.

3. Have A UK Summer Holiday Break

After doing lots of holidays abroad, I’m so ready to sit back and enjoy what’s on offer here, in the UK. We have some beautiful coastlines and I’m making it our thing to see as much of them as possible. Wales and Scotland are top of my list! *Update – We went to Wales and it was brilliant!

Bucket List

4. Visit A New National Trust Place

A couple of years ago we invested in National Trust cards and haven’t looked back since, despite not using them as much as we should. As a family who enjoys spending time out and about these cards are perfect for impromptu adventures.

Bucket List

5. London Sightseeing

Mr Button is always saying that we need to embrace the city more. I have a bit of a love/hate thing going on with London, but I can’t not let Little Button grab her fill of it when she’s so keen. *Update – We rode around London on a duck!

Bucket List

6. Fruit Picking

I have fond memories of going fruit picking. The fruit always seems to taste so much better when you’ve picked it yourself, don’t you think? Apart from our home grown tomato success, Little Button has yet to ever try this. Very excited!

7. Beach Hut Beach Days

We all LOVE the beach. It’s a home from home and with Millie’s beach huts a stone throw away from London (in Essex), there’s no doubt I’m starting to think that I should join Little Button in becoming a mermaid hehe! Beach days here we come. * Update – What better way to spend a sunny day than discovering a new beach hut!

Bucket List

Here’s to a gorgeous summer, even if it is a bit of a soggy one. Enjoy!

What’s on your summer bucket list this year? Let me know if you have come across any fab days out!

My eldest would love a trip to peppa pig world! We love our National Trust membership too. I also need to go fruit picking soon and beach hut days sound great #thelinkylist

I’m in the middle of a very similar post about my summer activities with the kiddos in Central New Jersey. I was surprised to see that a lot of our items match up! We had the same sort of activities planned and my daughters loved them- including the farm and beach. Hope you got to enjoy your holiday!

  3. Mama Mia says:

I need to take Mia to PP World she is obsessed!! #thelistlinky

  4. Jessicah says:

I love your bucket list! I hope you get them all done ✅ I wanna go sight seeing and fruit picking so badly with my girls!! I know my oldest will have the best time! Especially in the strawberry fields! #dreamteam

  5. Heather Keet says:

What a great bucket list! I hope you got to complete it, or at least make a dent in it! #DreamTeam

  6. Great post. It pays to have activities planned during the holidays just makes it so much easier. #DreamTeam

  7. It’s been a pretty wet summer up in Scotland, so we haven’t gotten up to nearly as much as I would have hoped. But I still think you should take a trip up to Scotland – you won’t find more beautiful scenery anywhere in the UK. Autumn is really nice up here, actually – the leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and it’s not too warm, but you don’t expect it to be. #dreamteam

  8. These are all brilliant. We have National Trust membership too and it is absolutely essential with kids! It means we can have a change of scene regularly. I really want to take the kids into London but am not brave enough just yet. Sounds like a great summer holiday to me! x #dreamteam

  9. Lucy At Home says:

So much fun! We’ve never been to Peppa Pig World as it’s a loooong way for us, but I think my girls would love it. Also, we were on holiday in Wales last week and I actually commented to hubby that it would be fab if they had some beach huts like the Millie Beach Huts I’d seen on your blog – it would have made our beach days sooo much easier! Haha #dreamteam

  10. mums army says:

Oh Peppa Pig World!!! My 3yr keeps saying he wants to go there after we saw an advert so it’s definitley on our list at some point. Also Wales looks lovely, some of my family have just been there for a weeks camping holiday and said it was an amazing place to go and explore. xx #DreamTeam

  11. We have been keen members of the National Trust for about a decade now and we love it! There are so many places to explore that you are spoilt for choice. I have never been to Peppa Pig World. My children watched Peppa Pig (and I did too! Love Daddy Pig!!) but there wasn’t a Peppa Pig World then so we missed out! I need a little one to take me! May have to call on my nieces. Thanks for the post. #Dreamteam

  12. Jeannette says:

There is a PEPPA PIG WORLD ? O my word. I never knew that. My little one would go CRAZY! Great post. #dreamteam

  13. Lovely list! Getting a National Trust membership has been on my to do list for ages – they have some really gorgeous properties perfect for exploring! Have always wanted to go on the London Duck tourbus too! #DreamTeam

  14. Great list. I did a SA Travel Bucket list at the beginning of the year and I have done absolutely NOTHING on it so I have decided that I will never make a bucket list again as it has clearly jinxed me! lol

  15. This is such an amazing list and you’ve had some brilliant adventures this summer so far! I’m very pleased to have been able to tick Wales off our list with you and your Buttons hehe. Dx

  16. Jaki says:

We are quite lucky in this country aren’t we really?! We do have lots of wonderful places to go and visit. This is a lovely list. #dreamteam

  17. Mama Grace says:

Fruit picking is the best one for me, I have such fond memories too. #DreamTeam

  18. RawMum says:

Interesting ideas… not sure I can stomach peppa pig though. #dreamteam

  19. Fab list – you have been really busy packing in so much X #dreamteam

  20. I am the worst at finishing a bucket list. Great at making them- I suck at getting them done. Enter mom guilt.
    Good work.

  21. Chloe Wood says:

Looks like you’ve had loads of fun! #DreamTeam

  22. Jenn @ Mad Mommy says:

It sounds like you had a wonderful summer! #dreamteam

  23. Fruit picking and Paultons Park was on our list as well and thankfully we managed to tick them off. Just wished we had more opportunities to visit the beach but the weather was poor over the summer (apart from the Bank Holiday weekends which is ironic!) Here’s looking towards Autumn now! #DreamTeam x

  24. Nicola says:

Sounds like you had some great things on your bucket list! I only had one thing on mine and that was to visit the sea and so far that’s still not happened! The weather has been pants so it definitely ruined a lot of our Summer plans. #dreamteam

  25. Chloe says:

Hi, what a great bucket list. I have to confess several of these would be on my list as well. You just can’t beat a day at the beach or the National Trust and fruit picking is a must what ever you age #dreamteam

  26. We do not have a peppapig world here (that I know of) and if there was, I can’t believe that never crossed my mind. Peppa was on our TV on the daily. I slept and talked in my best British accent. Always wanted to tour in one of those Duck tours. Thanks for sharing your bucket list =) #DreamTeam

  27. Looks like a fab summer, I am a national trust member and its the best thing I did. I too should use it more but all national trust places that I have visited have been beautiful.

  28. Ky says:

What a great summer bucket list. I used to love going to National Trust places as a kid, I loved exploring the gardens and big houses. We still haven’t been to Peppa Pig World, despite Clem being a huge fan! I think we will definitely have to try and get there next year before she grows out of it. x #dreamteam

  29. this makes me so sad that summer is over – looking forward to snow days, log fires and mulled wine now 🙂 #dreamteam

  30. fridgesays says:

#dreamteam I hate the soggy days. However, you haven’t stopped and have certainly packed the summer with memories, and thats what its really about isn’t it?

  31. Lots of lovely things to do and places to see. We didn’t get to do anything this summer but still hoping to do something in October holidays. #dreamteam

  32. I hope you managed to complete this, still a week to go! The weather this year has been awful 🙁 #dreamteam

  33. James Hopes says:

Keep meaning to do Peppa Pig world!! Our little one has suddenly got back into Peppa in the last couple of weeks so he’d love it I think! Thanks for the reminder! #DreamTeam

  34. Aleena says:

I’m not going to lie, I’m not Peppa’s biggest fan! Amelia has been bugging about Peppa Pig Worls, though, so maybe I’ll have to give in sometime soon!! #dreamteam

  35. My 1 year old is becoming a big Peppa pig fan and my 5 year won’t admit it but she still loves watching it too. I love a UK holiday too, Wales and Scotland are beautiful x

  36. Mrs Lighty says:

Your photos are so gorgeous Annette! I particularly love the one of Little Button in the carousel and on the beach. You’ve done so well with your bucket list! We’ve also done some new NT properties this summer, oh, and of course, Beach Huts…! #DreamTeam xxx

  37. I’m desperate to take Ben to Peppa Pig World but at 15 months I think he’s too young. Currently he walks around snorting and plays with a pack of nappies with her face on them! Oh and we went into a Waterstones last week and he refused to leave the Peppa section hahahah #dreamteam

  38. Ah sounds like you’ve had a lovely and busy summer. We love Peppa Pig too and went to Peppa Pig World back in June. It was so much fun and awesome to see the joy it brought to our toddler! #DreamTeam

  39. Annette, It sounds like a wonderful summer for all! Great pictures and great fun. It is all about making those memories. #DreamTeam xoxo

  40. Rebecca says:

Peppa Pig World? My youngest would die! I mean, she’d like it more than Disney World.

I just wrote about our summer bucket list too. http://www.findingmyblog.com/closing-door-summer/
