World Book Day Recipe Ideas

March 3, 2021

There are SO many ways you can celebrate World Book Day. One of our favourite nods to the occasion is to bake up a storm (or a bit of a mess in my case). It’s always so much fun as anything goes, and you can let your imaginations run completely wild!

Sometimes the best ideas are the most simplest. Here are a few lovely World Book Day recipe ideas to get you started.

What The Ladybird Heard cheesy snack

What you will need (per snack):

1 Babybel cheese portion

3 small blueberries

A couple of slices of cucumber

1 cracker or rice cake

Step one

Very carefully, cut away a ‘V’ shape of the Babybel wax with a sharp knife, and peel off. The ‘V’ will form the wings of your ladybird.

Step two

Next, cut away a semi-circle of the Babybel wax at the opposite end to your ‘V’ and peel off. The semi circle will form the head of your ladybird.

Step three

Place the cracker or rice cake onto a plate. Next, pop your ladybird shape on top of this.

Step four

Cut 2 blueberries in half and place onto your ladybird for spots.

Step five

Cut 2 tiny pieces off the remaining blueberry for eyes, and pop them on your ladybird head to finish it’s face.

Step six

Decorate the cracker or rice cake with cucumber (for grass).

Tah-dah!! It’s so easy!

Top tip: pre cut a few ladybirds (Babybels and the decoration) and let your little one get creating.
