This weekend I made a bit of a boob of myself.
Ok.
A big boob of myself if I’m completely honest.
The last 3 weeks have been super intense for us and I’ve been rushing about non-stop. Now. That’s not really a proper excuse, but I don’t feel like my feet have touched the ground, generally speaking. And that’s sort of what happened on Saturday.
My feet didn’t exactly touch the ground… in the right order because I was rushing. Rushing way too much for one person.
Before I knew it, oppsss!!! Up the stairs I somehow fell. Conking my forehead off the edge of our wooden steps and then floundering about like a beached whale as I sort of tumbled back down them.
Ouch!
I’ve got a ridiculously sore forehead, thankfully hidden by my hairline, whiplash (how is that even possible) and a very strained side. And the lesson? Well, to obviously slow down.
If I had been looking up, or at least in the right direction it’s likely that I wouldn’t have missed my footing. You see, that’s the trouble these days. We spend so much effort rushing about from task to task that sometimes, we miss things. Important things.
So this week I’m asking all my Buttons readers to slow down and take a moment to coppafeel of their boobies or pecs. Making sure that you check for anything that looks or feels a bit different. It won’t take long, you could even do it just before you hop into bed. This brilliant poster from coppafeel should help.
And promise. If you find anything that you are not sure of, please do not hesitate to book an appointment with your doctor. Even if it’s nothing. Trust me, you won’t be making a boob out of yourself on this one.
Be present and be aware, because this little check could save a life. #BreastCancerAwareness

Thank you for sharing. I hope your heads feeling better soon. I did similar on Sunday, I fell down a step which I didn’t see and smashed my knees on the floor, 48 hours later my left knee is still a mess but slowly getting better.
Oh Crickey! I hope you are OK, I myself tripped up the stairs to our flats a couple of weeks ago luckily I just banged my knees. I am always rushing about, this is great, important advice. We should all take a bit of time to check our bodies.
Ouch! That does sound like a bad fall. I hope you are not too sore now.
Fab blog post! We do need to stop every now and again and check ourselves x
Brilliant reminder of something so important. I hope you recover very soon. Kaz
Here in Sweden we get routinely checked every 2 years from the age of 40, and every 18 months from 50, so the ages are much lower than the UK, which is reassuring for me as my mum had breast cancer
Hope you’re feeling better after that bump and also thanks for this reminder, most of us forget the important things like checking out boobs
It’s SOOOO important! You have reminded me I must do this, it’s been a while! I hope your head feels better soon x
So important to remember to do this. I do mine in the shower every morning!
Such an important job to do for all women and as you say it takes seconds! I regularly check mine.
Hope your forehead and whiplash get better soon. Great post #Blogtober18
Oh gosh, I hope you’re ok. I try and check quite regularly as I follow Coppafeel’s work so it always serves as a good reminder
Hopefully lots of your readers will be touching their boobies tonight! It’s an important one to remember!
Sch an important issue to raise awareness about, its so lovely to see so many bloggers writing posts and taking time to raise the important issues x
