Strictly Come Dancing is back this year. Hooray!! The line up has been released. And now we are on the edge of our seats waiting for the big D day.
Strictly Dancing means Autumn will soon be on the way. With work starting to come out of the busiest time of the year for us. And the Strictly evenings holding the promise of cozy sofa cuddles, hot choccy with marshmallows and heaps of Strictly twitter banter.
Yes.
Life is good once Strictly Dancing hits the screens. Here’s why we’ll be watching it as a family.
1. Teamwork
Strictly Dancing shows teamwork in practice! What better way to show the littles the magic that happens when two or more people work as part of a team.
2. Good sportsmanship
You’ll never see the Strictly Dancing crew booing their opposition on the dance floor or stalking off in a mega sulk when someone else wins over them. The show oozes lots of good feels and sportsmanship, even in the finals, with dancers cheering each other on to win.
3. Positive body image
If there’s one thing that I completely love about Strictly, it’s got to be it’s positive body image ethos. It’s doesn’t matter what shape or size you are, there’s a place for you on the dance floor to shake that thang.
4. Cooperation
As with any partnership, it’s all about cooperation, giving and taking equally and being considerate for each other. Thanks to the backstage and rehearsal snippets, there’s plenty to see on that front.
5. Trying something new
Strictly Dancing is all about people trying something new. Whether a natural dancer or someone with 2 left feet, we get to see celebs giving it their all. No matter how silly they look. It’s the perfect opportunity to inspire little ones to give something new a go. *Sorry Little Button, I am actually indirectly trying to convince you to give ballroom dancing a go. As you suspected!
6. Putting in the effort
Strictly shows off a really important life skill. The willingness to work hard to achieve your #goals.
7. Bringing the family together
Strictly Dancing somehow manages to cross generations, making this a fantastic feel good show for the whole family to watch together. It never fails to have us chattering about the dancing, stunning costumes and fearless celebrities.
Bonus reason
Dr Ranj Singh from CBeebies’ Get Well Soon is in it this year! Wooohooo!!
Did someone call for a doctor? Oh wait… we did! 😄 Next to slip into some #Strictly dancing shoes is Dr Ranj Singh ✨ @DrRanj https://t.co/luYrC3T3qb pic.twitter.com/D4jpVYDTkT

Do you love Strictly Come Dancing too? Who are you looking forward to seeing out on that dance floor?
We watched the last series with our 7 year old daughter and she loves it. We all score the contestants and Isabelle tries to recreate the moves!
I love this! I have never been a fan but now I think that I’m missing out! I love reality tv, I need to get on to this when it comes back on!
I love, love, love watching SCD! Usually the kids are in bed by the time I get to watch it but it might be worth keeping them up for it this year. How good is the line up?! x
