Blogging Is Like Sailing On The Ocean

October 5, 2016

What does blogging feel like to you? For me blogging is like sailing on the ocean. A little glittery pink boat winking in the sea, sailing alongside a huge fleet. Together, we are the #DreamTeam, sometimes #HappyLittleButtons. A combination of the two or late at night, just blogging buddies giving each other pep talks or sharing ideas. We are a strong force, a voice that will be heard and demand to be seen. We matter.

Blogging is like sailing on the ocean

When Things Get Stormy On That Ocean

One of my blogging besties is about to take a little blog break. No doubt she will come back with a huge kaaa-pow! I am sure of it. But what struck me most was that feeling of not being good enough and inevitably being stuck at a crossroad point, this seems to be shared by so many bloggers out there. Some make big comebacks and blow us all out of the water, others just never make that return. Shipwrecks of suddenly stopped blogs, left, drifting and eventually disappearing out of sight.

Your Fleet Is Here

I may be a little glittery pink boat bobbing around in a huge ocean, but before you sign off, know that our fleet will be waiting for you. The #DreamTeam linky and #HappyLittleButtons Instagram community is a hugely interactive, collective of amazing strong bloggers. From new little dinghy’s to established battle ships, our experience is vast and our welcome is always wide.

Blogging Is Like Sailing On The Ocean

Blogging is like sailing on the ocean.

It can throw you up high and bring you down low without a moment’s notice.

It can send you into an excited chaos one minute, then a serene calm the next.

Along the way, you will bump into others.

Some will come and go with the tides.

Others will stick like barnacles, forming a little unshakable tribe.

Blogging can be unpredictable like the ocean.

But ultimately, no matter how it treats you, it should make you feel free.

See you soon.

  3. What a nice poem, you’re so right. The ocean is pretty big but we all sail our little boats. It’s not about the size of the boat but who’s driving it!!! #BloggerClubUK

Having started my blog only recently, the inter-blog community is something I had no idea existed a few months ago. If I had known I would have got stuck in ages ago, everyone is so lovely and supportive! Yay for bloggers 🙂 #TribalLove

  15. Ya I totally agree with you! There are ups & downs in blogging. And it takes so much time & dedication that sometimes we have to wonder if what we are doing actually matters to anyone? Sometimes a break is the best thing to do! I took a few weeks off (something I never thought I’d do) and I’m much better for it. I hope your blogging buddy comes back with a bang! Thanks so much for coming back to join #candidcuddles. I’m going to take down your IG community # for my next kiddie photos!! x

  16. This has blown me away. What an utterly beautiful post. And it I couldn’t have read it at a better time. In fact, I think I’ll need to reread it every three months when I got through my inevitable regular blog lows (I swear it’s like I’ve got blog PMT!). I think you said in a tweet you didn’t think you’d linked the right sort of post/quote or something? It’s just perfection. Thanks so much for joining #candidcuddles with this beaut!

  17. Love this. Its so true. There have been so many times when I have felt a little stuck, or lost, or at a crossroads. Thankfully each time I have been able to push through it, but there have been many times when I have felt like I wouldnt be able to and questioned what I am doing. One of the things that helps with this stuff though, is knowing that so many others experience moments like these too so thanks for sharing it on #MarvMondays. Emily
