It’s the day after our trip to the beach and I can honestly say that it was one of our best days of the summer. We are all still sporting our ‘beach faces’ *ridiculously happy beaming faces which are glowing with sun kisses and salt spray.
We LOVE the beach, especially Little Button and I. If you are a regular reader of our blog, you will know that I find London life a bit of a squish when it comes to outdoor space. So for me, escaping City life every now and again is a must.
A few weeks ago and completely by chance, I saw a lovely photo of a gorgeous pink beach hut on Lucy’s Instagram from Dear Beautiful. Wow! This turned out to be the infamous ‘Millie’. It looked incredible, and after a bit of messaging I found out that it was one of a set of beach huts owned by the talented Vicky from Millie’s Beach Huts. A quick check of location, Walton-On-Naze, and I was pretty clueless as to where it was. Beach has always means a trip to the South Coast for me, so I left it there.
It wasn’t until I mentioned it in passing to Mr Button a couple of weeks later, cue a lot of google maps investigating, that I realised that Walton-On-Naze was just over 1 hour and a half drive from London! Oh my goodness! How could we have missed it! Am I the only one who didn’t realise that this? I feel like I have made the find of the century.
Quick sticks *as you can imagine, I made a beeline for Millie’s Beach Huts to see if we could grab an August booking. I knew it was unlikely, but as I always say… you just never know. And guess what, as if by fate, Vicky was about to release booking dates for a new little beach hut called Harley. Hurrah!
We all whooped and gasped with delight on opening the beach hut doors to Harley.
Words still escape me now. So much care and attention has gone into creating a beautiful piece of beach paradise. For me, it was absolutely perfect for our family.
Harley comes fully kitted out with little luxuries that will make your beach stay even sunnier. From the fabulously kitsch deco, to extras such as a box of buckets and spades, everything is there.
Walton-On-Naze is a glorious sandy beach. It does have a pier, though we didn’t have a chance to explore it as most of our day was spent making sand castles and searching for treasure!
What better way to end a day out at the beach than with a fish and chip supper with a view.
Visiting the beach will never be the same again.
