Get excited, because there’s a brand new family festival coming to London this July, and you won’t want to miss it! Monstrous will be heading to the award-winning Printworks complex in South London on Sunday 29th July for their debut one day festival. Designed with mini festival goers (4-14 years old) in mind, this family event is going to knock their socks off and is a sure-fire way to kick off the summer holidays in style.
Think live performances, exciting experiences and so many exhilarating attractions and adventures, all housed in seven fantasy worlds! Here’s the line-up.
Chelsea FC Foundation team are joining Monstrous for the day to take your little ones for a spin round the pitch, and will be blitzing all the essential football skills with them. Everything from passing, dribbling, penalty shootouts, speed tests and more! #InFootballHeaven
You’ve heard of The Beast right? I like to call it bouncy castle land, because it’s like being in a whole new (bouncy) world. The beast is the world’s largest inflatable obstacle course, which can be enjoyed by the whole family. Hop, skip, jump and in my case most likely, scoot on your butt, round a whopping 32 obstacles.
And when you’re all jumped out, take a load off here.
Gamers of all ages are going to go wild for this digital haven, which will house over 1,000 classic console games including the very important MineCraft, Roblox, Pokemon, Fortnite Battle Royale, retro Arcade machines, Pacman, Donkey Kong and Street Fighter. Players can get comfy on the PS4, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, as well as having the chance to dip a toe into animation studios and Virtual Reality booths.
Did I have you at unicorn? Yep? Me too. Prepare to be swept off your feet by this enchanting Monstrous Fairy Tale land which will be buzzing with unicorns, mermaids and Disney Princess walkabout characters. Little ones can pamper themselves in dressing up and selfie zones (yes!), beauty parlours, karaoke, singalong booths and explore captivating forests and flower walls. #Excited
And once you’re all relaxed, why not head over here.
Get your groove on with the hottest names in kid’s entertainment, live music and performances – all hosted by Monstrous Monty. There will be giant disco balls, confetti cannons, UV face painting, lazer shows, dance competitions, talent shows, flash mobs and a very special guest appearance! Wow!! *We’ll see you on the dance floor then?
Fun seekers will love Monty’s mini Theme Park, where they will be able to ride the Dodgems and Go Carts, take a spin in the Tea Cups and enjoy Lazer Quest, the Nerf Arenas, shooting galleries and trampolines. There will also be little rides for the Mini Monsters too! But wait, there’s more. Retro Fun Fair stalls such as hammer slams and hook a duck, incredible aerial trapeze artists, funny circus acts and the all-important classic Punch & Judy show will be there to thrill and entertain the whole family. Magicians, Super Hero’s and street performers will also be roaming the Magical Fun Fair Town, so keep your eyes open for some unmissable shows.
Then, step outside and get closer to nature here.
What’s a festival without a good dose of fresh air right? The clever people at Monstrous are transforming the landscape at Printworks to create an urban beach and a Petting Zoo zone. How cool is that?! Creative mini monsters can also get their hands busy by taking part in arts and crafts workshops throughout the day here.
And for when the very teeniest mini monsters need a rest, head over here.
Designed for 4 year olds and under, the Baby Garden is a little chilled out haven and perfect pit stop to unwind with the littlest festival goers. There will be baby sensory, messy soft play, story time, ball pits and mini train rides. Parents can shake their tail feathers in the parent and baby dance classes and there will also be some special meet and greets from the biggest pre-school favourites.
We are still family festival virgins. Ekk! And yes, it’s all down to me, not wanting to get my wellies dirty or use a communal shower in a field. But, problem solved with Monstrous! As they bring EVERYTHING and more to London in what’s set to be the hottest family festival this summer! There won’t be a flooded field in sight. Just family friendly tube stations, transport links and those fab London hotels if you are travelling in from a distance. We’ll be there!
Quick! Second release tickets are on sale and priced at £24.50 each, with babies in arms going free. For more information and to book tickets, head over to the Monstrous website here. Don’t forget to follow Monstrous on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for all the latest news.
Have you ever been to a family festival before?
And most importantly, will we see you at Monstrous this July?
Disclosure: We have been invited to the Monstrous Festival. All information above correct as of press release 25 April 2018.
This festival sounds amazing for kids. We will have to check it out. I think my girls would spend most of the day in prince, princess and unicorn lands
What an incredible family festival this will be, I will check if my brother and his family want to attend with us and take the kids down
Sounds like a fun festival! Will have to find out if there’s anything like that where I live (Western Australia).
Wow this looks like so much fun! I’ve seen this advertised and that inflatable obstacle course looks like it would be such fun to do as a family or with friends 🙂
Wow, wow, wow this festival sounds amazing. That bouncy castle! 😮 My daughter would be on that for hours and unicorn land had me sold. x
That festival sounds perfect for anyone not wanting to camp or potentially drag their family through muddy fields. And this is theborlerfect excuse to combine a visit to London with a family festival!
That sounds like a great alternative festival for kids

This sounds amazing! I wish I was there in July, so like our kind of family fun activity! #DreamTeam
This sounds great, but I can hear our 14 year old telling that she’ll be the judge of whether or not her socks would be knocked off!!! 🙂 I’ll see what she thinks as we’re always looking for stuff to do as a family in the holidays that could be described as “cool”.
One question. Are dads allowed to “help” their child on The Beast?
Okay, by “help” I mean spend my whole day playing on it.
Yep! You got me at unicorn! Sounds fantastic! #dreamteam
looks like fun! #DreamTeam
This looks fab! I’ll definitely look into taking my two #DreamTeam
This sounds amazing, an actual festival is a step too far for me (I’ve done enough muddy camping to last me a lifetime) but this is something different. All the activities sound really well thought out. #DreamTeam
Looks amazing! I would definitely like a go on “the beast” never mind the kids!! What a great idea for a festival x #dreamteam

This sounds incredible! How wonderful that they’re encouraging a fun family trip! I can only imagine my 18 month old spending the whole day on the Beast being trampled by older kids but not caring!
