Top 12 must-see Disney movies before going to Disneyland Paris

March 8, 2019

If you are heading to Disneyland Paris this year, then it goes without saying that you are probably well versed in lots of Disney movies. The likes of Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella may be in your movie collection, like ours. Not just for the little ones, but for the grown ups to enjoy too. *Yes, I’ll be watching Beauty and the Beast for the billionth time tonight! #NeverTooOld

Disneyland Paris cleverly features and also throws references to so many of the wonderful classics just like The Sword in the Stone!

  1. Great tips. You definitely need to know your stuff to go to Disneyland to get the best out of it. My eldest wanted to go to the Harry Potter experience but hasn’t read any of the books or watched the films so we said it was pointless as she just wouldn’t appreciate it!

  2. Marie Blake says:

We went in November and I agree it really helps to watch some of the films. Sword in the stone and Peter Pan are classics. I also watched coco before I went as they had a lot of the theming still up from Halloween.

  3. Anosa says:

I am a Disney child so I have watched all these and been to Disneyland Paris a couple of times, can not wait to return.

  4. Talya Stone says:

Ahhh we have seen so many of these…now we just need to get ourselves to Disneyland Paris! I hear there is a good offer on with the Metro at the moment…

  5. Lydia C. Lee says:

I liked Mulan a lot at the time. And Toy Story…#Dreamteam

  6. Sally says:

Oh I love Disney movies. They just make you feel so good. My favourite is ratatouille. It so funny!

  7. I have been thinking of taking my 4-year-old. He knows a lot of the characters despite not having seen the full films, but it would be lovely to sit down and see these first.

  8. Great list. We haven’t been yet, but it is on our list. I struggle to get my girls to watch anything that looks older than 10 years ago. I would love them to actually sit and watch the likes of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. #dreamteam

  9. Oh yes! Dumbo and Pinocchio are classics and we should definitely add them to our collection. #dreamteam

  10. Jenni says:

I’m proud to say I have seen all of these! Aladdin is probably my favourite from this list. Those were the golden days of Disney! I also really love Cars (yes, I watched it before we had kids, I even went on a date with my then boyfriend, now husband, to see it)

  11. I’m a big fan of all the Pixar stuff, that’s technically Disney now right? Wreck it Ralph, Wall-e, Toy Story etc.

  12. Sophie says:

Oh I love all of these films! You are right….can you imagine going to Disney without having watched the films? It would be very confusing! #dreamteam

  13. I LOVE all of these films!! My favourite is Aladdin – the genie is just fabulous!

  14. Kate says:

Clever of you to put the rides and the films together like this. Quite tempted by a trip to Disneyland Paris – when in Orlando I met a French man who worked in Orlando having being a poor boy in Paris and never being able to go to Paris. Inspirational tale. #DreamTeam

  15. Isabel says:

Mhm I’ve never watched Alice in Wonderland – guess I should do that some miserable, rainy day 😉 #dreamteam

  16. Now that is the homework of dreams! And a few we need to still see! Thank you for this amazing list. #dreamteam
Which was little buttons fave? xoxo #dreamteam

  17. We’ve watched all of it except Peter Pan #dreamteam

  18. Laura Dove says:

All of these! We have seen every Disney movie a million times over I;m sure! We really want to go to disneyland Paris this year, I haven’t been in years!

  19. So hard to chose a favourite…I love them all! But I guess Toy Story is up there as being an all time favourite! X #dreamteam

  20. Dynamic Dad says:

I like the idea of reviewing the movies before going so you can point out all the links back to the stories.

  21. I remember the day where I could get my daughter to sit and watch Disney movies.. Not any more… Not even the older greater ones. I suppose they all grow out of it one day 🙁

  22. Love all these movies. Certainly need a moviefest before visiting the parks! #Dreamteam

  23. Helen Copson says:

I LOVE a Disney movie! Sadly my three year old will only watch Toy Story and Finding Nemo on repeat so hasn’t been introduced to the delights of the others. I must try harder! #dreamteam

  24. Toy Story, Mary Poppins and Peter Pan are probably a few of my faves. I did really enjoy the remake of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast as well #dreamteam

  25. Heather Keet says:

Beauty and the Beast is my all-time favorite. She was the first brunette princess to be created when I was little. Toy Story is a very close runner up to that! #DreamTeam

  26. Tracey Carr says:

Oh Sleeping Beauty has always been my favourite. I love the music in it and the three fairy godmothers. But I let my four year old daughter watch it a few weeks ago for the first time and she didn’t like it as much as I would thought. I had forgotten how dark it can be in places with Maleficent, especially the scenes in her castle. I think is scared her a bit so we decided to turn it off and maybe give it a go later on when she is more ready for it. P.S. love your pictures of Disneyland!! #dreamteam

  27. Kirsty says:

Wow so much pre work needed 😉 I love a disney movie so would be happy to get started on this list today. I really must give in and accept that a trip to disney is a must. You are making it look so fun, but I fear with my four loons it would be less so ha ha! #DreamTeam

  28. Rosie Doal says:

I have seen all of these and loved many of them. Toy Story and Finding Nemo were my faves. I’m glad my kids had seen all these before our visit to Orlando in 2017. It made the experience much more enjoyable for them as they knew all of the characters x #DreamTeam

  29. Crummy Mummy says:

Seen all of these! Love Peter Pan, that has to be my fave #DreamTeam

  30. Heather Keet says:

Toy story is my favorite from this list! It is such a classic and such a unique storyline.
