Beach days can be the BEST can’t they?
We’ve racked up so many beach memories as a family over the last few years, and I can’t wait for more this summer. We ALWAYS freestyle our days on the coast, so this year I’ve decided to make a Beach Themed Summer Bucket List. Not only so that we can make the most of our time, but also so we can tick off some of those great ideas that we haven’t got round to yet.
Make a homemade sandcastle flag (or 2) to bring to the beach.
Build a PROPER sandcastle, complete with a moat.
Stick a homemade sandcastle flag in a sandcastle you’ve built. Take a photo!
Dip your toes in the sea.
Jump over some waves.
Paddle in the sea.
Walk barefoot along the sand.
Make a sand sculpture.
Try digging to the other side of the world!
Write your name in the sand.
Collect some pretty shells to decorate your sandcastle with.
Look for beach treasure.
Try skimming a pebble across the sea.
Collect sea water in your bucket.
Fly a kite along the beach.
Hire a beach hut.
Eat fish and chips looking out over the coast.
Go mermaid spotting.
Try crabbing.
Look in the rock pools for sea life.
Paint some beach themed rocks.
Hide a few of your painted rocks along the beach.
Try to spot someone else’s painted rock. Take a photo!
Walk along a pier.
Eat ice cream on the beach if it’s a hot day.
Eat hot donuts on the pier if it’s a cold day.
Build a beach den.
Lie on a beach towel, close your eyes and just listen for 10 minutes. Don’t fall asleep!
Take part in a beach scavenger hunt.
Play beach frisbee.
Watch the sunset.

We live near the Norfolk coast and we don’t go to the beach nearly enough. This kind of bucket list sounds like loads of fun.
I’m 46 and last week I tried crabbing for the first time. It was so much fun (and we caught loads)!
Aww amazing! We’ve never done it – so definitely something we want to try on our next visit.
Great list! We took cheap kites to the beach one year and had a great afternoon playing with them!
I love the beach but don’t get there enough, I will remember this one when we next visit it
love your beach bucket list ! it actually gave me loads of ideas as to what we can do too x so thank you xx
Ah we love the beach. The kids think it’s special when we go as we don’t live as near to one as I would like. We also do a beach clean when we go, as the kids are very aware of how plastic affects the animals in the sea.
Great list! We’ve done quite a few of these at the beach this summer. Still want to go crabbing, but we managed to get in flying a kite, and baking pancakes over a campfire.
Awww I love this! I can’t wait for our two week at the beach later this month. Will definitely be printing this to take with us x
looks like you’ve really had a great summer, sad thing is that its rainy days now in our country
Aww all those things bring back lovely memories of things we did as kids. I hope our little one has lovely memories too.
#DreamTeam
That’s gas … we have a 14 and a 15-year old and we live by the sea but can’t get them to comes to the beach with us anymore!!! I miss those days! #DreamTeam
No matter how grown up or far flung our family becomes, I hope we can still make time for at least ONE family beach day every year. There’s nothing like a salty day of sunshine and fun with everyone present.
We must have done all of these over the years, but looking back we haven’t been to the beach nearly enough this year. I put it down to my growing kids who are off doing their own things more and more each year. I think I miss family beach days much more than they do #DreamTeam
This is fab, so many great ideas to have fun in the summer X #dreamteam
I LOVE beach days. We’re lucky living in the North East that the Northumberland coast is not too far away and has some gorgeous beaches. On holiday this year I got up at sunrise to have a walk along the coast and it was magical. #dreamteam
We love a beach day, I’m sure we’ve done most of the things on this list over the past few months! #dreamteam
Thanks for the list. Pinned for next time we go to the beach.
#dreamteam
We love the beach. The last time we were at the beech the tide was out which left small pools of water that we investigated and found all kinds of creatures. Great Fun #DreamTeam
Little pools of sea water are so much fun. You never know what you are going to find xx
I love these ideas. Definitely pinning for holiday next year! Great to be back with #DreamTeam
Thank you! Yes, it’s great to be back 🙂
Great ideas! I always think to take flags for sandcastles and always forget! We didn’t get to the beach as much as I’d hoped this year, but we’ll definitely be making more of an effort next year when our littlest is a bit bigger. #dreamteam
Aww thank you! We’ve yet to do the flags either as I completely forgot.
Aaah I love crabbing, lots of happy childhood memories doing just that, and some yet to be made with my boys! Hiring a beach hut would be a dream, but maybe one I’d like to do sans kids, just me and the hubby sipping something chilled and admiring the view. #DreamTeam
Beach hut days are our favourite! Never done it sans kiddies though. xx
Its silly how little we go to the beach in the summer. I think the pool had me a bit spoiled #dreamteam
Oh this is making me feel a little bit sad! I promised myself that I would bring my daughters to the beach this summer but we never got to do it. It was for several reasons (poor weather a lot of the time!) but I still really regret it because it was on my summer list of things to do with them. I loved reading through your list Annette, there are so many great suggestions there. Now if only we could get one more spell of nice weather before the autumn really kicks in and I might just get them there! #dreamteam
We live by the beach so can tick most of these off – hope you had a great summer! #DreamTeam
Hot donuts on the pier. That sounds like the best day ever! #DreamTeam
I love this. Its everything i remember from my son growing up and impromptu trips to the beach irrespective of the time of year x #dreamteam
