What to wear this Christmas – Simply Be #WeAreCurves

When it comes to what to wear this Christmas I know I won’t be compromising thanks to Simply Be. Hooraa!  I’m a mum, with curves and apart from wanting to look festive, I also need to know that what I’m wearing is going to stay in one piece. None of that cheap flimsy fabric that ends up showing off your maracas, or clothes which have been badly scaled up to fit mums with jiggly bits.

Nope. I’m not having any of that this year.

I’ve been on the look-out for something just right to wear for Christmas day. Something with a bit of sparkle which looks festive but classic. Ideally something that that can be dressed up or down. And above all, something that’s really comfortable!

Simply Be sent me some lovely goodies to try and this is my favourite outfit!

Sparkly tunic with jeggings and heels

This is the longer length black matte sequin front jersey tunic from Simple Be. I LOVE it! Although it is sparkly, it’s matte and so isn’t too out there and brash. When the light catches it, it looks really pretty!

I’ve teamed it with jeggings and heels but if you are daring (and short like me – 5”3), you could go with thick tights. Or swap out the heels for some cute boots.

I love the overall fit and it’s not clingy at all.

It feels very well made and I could go about my usual mum business, including playing on the floor with my daughter and NOT flashing the boobies by accident. There’s fab coverage up top. And the sequins have stayed firmly put too.

I’ve also spotted they do this tunic in indigo! *Runs online to see if it’s in stock!

Black duffle coat

I’m usually out and about in a decent waterproof windshield type jacket most days, because us mums need their hands free to hold all the extra stuff that comes with the kids. There is no room for umbrellas when your zip zapping from place to place and on the school – work run. But over the holidays it is nice to be able to slip into a smarter looking coat when out visiting friends and family, or heading out to catch Santa.

I love Simply Be’s take on the classic black duffle coat. It’s gorgeous, smart, and roomy in all the right places! It has a zip as well as the old fashioned toggles to fasten it making it feel cozy even in the wind. And the hood is fab too!

So that’s it. I’m all set for Christmas day! Yes. There will be a Christmas jumper too, but I certainly won’t feel self conscious about taking it off to show off my outfit underneath.
