I’m back with my latest five fab things post from this week!
We’ve had so much fun making gross out Halloween bakes this year. Not everything went according to plan (anyone remember the ghost banana #fail ?), but these super cute love monsters were my absolute favourite. They were scoffed so quickly that I’m convinced that we need to make more! Luckily the recipe can be tailored for all sorts of holiday fun.
It’s boot season! YASS!!! I’m a sucker for super comfy flats, so these Hotter boots tick all the boxes for me. And, they do some great ankle boot styles too. Little Buttons feet have just outgrown kids sizes, so here we are….. #twinning in Hotter boots!
I’ve got a terrible habit of talking myself out of allowing myself to think… yes… I blooming did that! So, this week I’m ever SO THANKFUL to a couple of amazing friends who have encouraged me to really own it. ‘It’ being featured in The Bookseller (I know… THE Bookseller?!?!) with my up coming children’s picture book Me In The Middle (out next year).
Little Button got a lovely surprise treat afterschool from her Uncle Button this week – thank you Brad! Have you heard of Boomf before? They are a little expensive, but they make the sweetest cards and mini treats. After being surprise confetti bombed (much to Alfie the dogs delight), the little tucked into a heap of unicorn treats and her favourite was this fluffy Unicorn Slow Rise Squashy. Boomf are truly brilliant for pick me ups…. now I’m planning a return confetti bomb surprise!

This quote from the lovely @SelfcareExpress over on Instagram is everything. It’s amazing how even the littlest gesture, smile or kind words can create such an impact, and indeed that all important positive ripple effect.

I really like the three books that you describe in this post. With so much in the news about critical race theory and the concept that we (caucasians) are all guilty simply due to our skin color, I find it refreshing that these books will teach children about diversity and celebrate our differences.
The stories of how our families came to be are fascinating and deserve to be celebrated. Also, if we don’t look at the truth of what one people did to another, without blaming, how can we hope to avoid this type of abuse in the future.
The Halloween treats are really cute and they look delicious. The bit about your daughter and her uncle is truly heartwarming, right down to the throw back photo. The uncle is truly a gem!
