How to make a whirligig Easter chick – Kids Crafts

April 16, 2022

Have you ever got to a holiday, like Easter, and realised that you’ve not done any themed crafts with the kids? Me too! Instagram is FULL of amazing stuff to do (that requires a lot of stuff to make) and to be honest, sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. But not to worry, if you need a superfast Easter kids crafts activity that requires very little ‘stuff’, then this whirligig Easter chick could be for you.

We used paint to make our Easter chicks. But, to speed things up you could use colouring pens or pencils, which would lend themselves to a last second after lunch activity.

You will need:

Step 1

First, paint (or draw and colour) two yellow circles for the chick’s head and body. Then, two orange shapes for the feet.

Step 2

Next, add an orange beak to the smaller yellow circle.

Step 3

Leave to dry (if painted) before cutting out the 4 shapes.

Step 4

Draw on the chick’s eyes. Tip: If you have them to hand, use googly eyes for a giggle.

Step 5

Carefully cut the chick’s body into a whirligig (a bit like the pattern of a snail).

Step 6

Stick the chick’s head to the top of its whirligig body, and the feet to the bottom. Thread to hang.

Tip: You could use these as table place settings by writing your guests names on the chick’s body.

Pin me for later 😉
