Happy National Authors Day

⭐️ Happy National Authors Day ⭐️ to all the writers out there!

A couple of years ago this amazing man – Sam @story_dad from @owletpress – took a chance on Dawn (remember the Rhyming with Wine blog?) and myself. And, we’ll always be forever grateful, more than words will ever be able to say.

Both of us were old hats in the U.K. parenting bloggers scene, and both of us had even had a good dabble as being topic editors for @britmums back in the day….… Dawn as the Poetry & Prose Round-up editor and myself as Happiness Round-up editor (yes, that is a thing).

But, nothing, nothing at all could have prepared us for the incredible journey that took place through covid, and out the other side with our debut children’s picture book WILD! 🐺🐾

WILD! was published last year by Owlet Press (how is it only last year?!), co written by Dawn @sprinkleofrhyme and myself and illustrated by Ryan Sonderegger @ryansonderegger – with Ross @thestentedpapa as it’s official storyteller😊

Go TEAM WILD we’d scream – because that’s what mum bloggers do when their wildest dreams come true!

We learnt so many things, thanks to Sam and the Owlet Press gang. Especially that children’s picture books really are created with so much love, care and the absolute hugest amount of team work!

This year my 2nd picture book Me, in the Middle was published by Owlet Press, written by myself and illustrated by Angela Mayers @angelamayersillustration . And honestly, I still can’t quite believe it.

So, on National Authors Day, I’m sending the biggest squishiest THANK YOU to Sam and the whole team at Owlet Press. *And sending high fives to all the incredible Owlet Press authors and illustrators who shine so brightly with the most beautiful stories ⭐️
