Our top buys from Mega Movie Week on iTunes

January 25, 2019

*Runs in. Did you know that it’s Mega Movie Week this week! It started on Monday 21st January and will finish this Sunday 27th January.

What’s Mega Movie Week?

Oh no… you didn’t just wonder that… did you? It’s basically a crazy week where select movie prices plummet to an incredible £2.99 or so on iTunes and other digital movie providers. Which is super awesome if you are film buffs like us.

The movies must be ancient did you say? Well… yes, there are some fab oldies. But also some new(ish) releases too. YASS!!! *Runs to the TV to show you.

Our TV iTunes set up

We are big lovers of APPLE. And so, we do have an Apple TV 4K plugged into our TV. This means that at a touch of a button we can easily stream all our iTunes movies at a really high quality. We hardly ever buy hard copy Blu Rays anymore. So when the movies go into super deals like this, you can bet your bottom dollar that Mr Button will be rummaging about EVERY evening to see what he can spot to buy.

Our top buys from Mega Movie Week on iTunes (so far!)

When deals like this present themselves, I have to say that it’s me that’s the cautious one. Because movies do tend to drop in price over time. And you don’t want to build a mammoth movie collection based on the sale, only to find that the prices drop further later in the year.

I’m not sure the Mega Movie Week is like that though. At £2.99 a pop, the prices are practically rock bottom. So I doubt they do anything but climb in price again. With this in mind, everyone went a bit button happy on snapping up some great deals. Here’s a peek at our top buys *I’m a bit embarrassed to show you everything as when I say we went a bit button happy, I’m not joking.

The Meg

Ready Player One

Mamma Mia & Mamma Mia Here We Go Again

Hotel Transylvania 2 (to complete our collection)

Wonder Woman

Ghostbusters (2016)

Jumanji 1 and 2

The Shape Of Water

Crazy Rich Asians

Quite a few of the X-Men ones

Top tip

If you know a movie is part of a collection, before you buy the single movie in the deal, make sure you check out how much the movie bundle/collection is. Because at the moment in some cases it can work out just under or even-stevens to buy the whole lot in one go. Which I believe is what we did for X-Men.

I like how you have included the top tips and share out and I find it very useful. I watched Crazy Rich Asian and Mama Mia and I have to say Mama Mia is really nice to watch, the dance, the happy vibe and Meryl Streep is just so good in acting, dancing and singing. I love it. Crazy Rich Asian are kind of overrated for me. As someone who is living in Singapore, I feel this is so unreal. LOL.
