Living Arrows – 41/52 (2020)

October 14, 2020

It’s been a bit of a week for us all. Our kitchen and bathroom renovation is coming together quite nicely, but we are all feeling the effects of it now. With no bathroom, no kitchen, and feeling cold during the day….. it really does start to add up, even with the best intentions.

Unfortunately our adventure of ‘camping at home’ with a makeshift kitchen in the front room, and making do with the downstairs loo isn’t much fun any more. Trust me… the below is definitely NOT happening in our house at the moment.

Just For Tiny People

However, we’ve been making the great escape to Nanny and Grandad Buttons house as often as time allows. What a relief!!!! Hot baths all round. Not worrying about the cooking. Those moments have been pure utter bliss. And as for using their washing machine, I’ve never been more eager to get a load started in my life!

Pottering in Nanny and Grandad Buttons garden, in the cold, somehow seems like the most fun thing to do (our garden is full of rubbish waiting to be collected).

And it’s been so wonderful to check up on Alfie, who’s been having a little holiday at Nanny and Grandad Buttons to keep him from getting under the feet of the builders.

This post is so sweet. I hope the renovations are going well!

  2. I can imagine the novelty of ‘camping’ at home would wear off quite quickly! But what a fab excuse to spend time with family! x

  3. Jo says:

Thank goodness for parents/grandparents eh? We’ve done the same when we’ve had work going on.

  4. Alfie looks lovely! I hope it all gets sorted soon, so you ca get some normality back in your lives x #livingarrows

  6. Naomi says:

Getting a new Mitch is such a nightmare but soooo worth it!

  7. Donna says:

I really feel your pain! Luckily for us we have never done the kitchen and bathroom at the same time. I can imagine it really not being fun at all! x

  8. I hope the renovations complete quickly I think I would be the same without a bathroom or kitchen. Sounds like you are doing a great job!

  9. Sarah says:

I can still remember how hard it was when we didn’t have a kitchen for three weeks – I can’t imagine not having a bathroom either! Hopefully your renovations will be done soon, and I’m sure it will all be worth it in the end! #LivingArrows
