How to make a mini Christmas Tree – Kids Christmas crafts

Even though we’ve got a lot more time on our hands this Christmas, I still love a good old last second kids Christmas craft. Especially one where you can use odds and ends that you may already have at home. These mini Christmas trees work really well as a very kids hands on (grown ups hands off) activity, leaving you to be able to watch at a little distance and grab that much needed cuppa. 

What you will need

• Pine cone/s (ours were old ones left over at the bottom of our craft drawer)
• Paint
• Glue
• Bits to decorate your mini Christmas tree/s with (we used pom poms, buttons and shiny shapes)

How to make a mini Christmas tree  

1. Apron up and ask your little one to paint their mini Christmas tree (pine cone). They don’t have to be traditional green. We had a couple of pink ones!

2. Leave the painted mini Christmas tree/s to completely dry. We left ours overnight.

3. Next, hand over the glue and let your little one cover the ends of their Christmas tree in it. We used normal pritt stick and it worked really well. 

4. Offer a selection of goodies for your little one to decorate their mini Christmas tree with. 

5. Leave to dry and then display.

We think they look lovely as a table decoration! Or, you could even use them as place settings.
