Happy #Blogtober20

October 1, 2020

Each year, bloggers from across the land join in with a challenge called ‘Blogtober’. It’s a brilliant writing challenge to post one blog post a day through October and stretch those writing and creativity muscles, no matter what your writing niche is.

Some, elaborately plan and have all their blog posts stacked up neatly and ready to be published each day, whilst others * whistles * fly by the seat of their pants and write on the fly, sometimes with only a couple of hours to spare and whenever they can make it * 😉  which could be once a week at times *. However you choose to join in, this year’s #Blogtober20 will be fun, furious and a huge giggle all round. We hope to see you out there.

#Blogtober20 writing prompts

Last year myself and Kirsty guest hosted #Blogtober19. You can catch last year’s posts here to get an idea of how it all works. This year, Mandi is taking back the hostess reins after a short break (phew!), and she has a brand-new theme all planned out!

Here are the #Blogtober20 writing prompts!

  1. This is me – Happy #Blogtober20
  2. The one I love – Living Arrows – 39/52 (2020)
  3. Sweet child o mine
  4. Into the groove – Day 0 of the kitchen and bathroom renovation – NOT quite in the groove… yet!
  5. Manic Monday – Day 1 of the kitchen and bathroom renovation – Manic Monday
  6. She drives me crazy – Day 2 of the kitchen and bathroom renovation
  7. If I could turn back time
  8. Millennium – Day 3 and 4 of the kitchen and bathroom renovation
  9. Imagine – Family fun at Capel Manor Gardens, North London
  10. Relax
  11. I should be so lucky
  12. Girls just want to have fun
  13. Fame – Barbie deals on Amazon Prime Day
  14. Wannabe
  15. All that she wants
  16. Holiday
  17. Saturday night
  18. Some might say
  19. Don’t look back in anger
  20. Never ever
  21. Smile
  22. Can’t get you out of my head
  23. Whenever wherever
  24. Back to black
  25. Somebody that I used to know
  26. Truly madly deeply
  27. Greatest day
  28. Picture of you
  29. Step by step
  30. Never gonna give you up
  31. Ghostbusters

YES… you’ve guessed it. Its pop tunes themed!!!

I must admit that at first, I had no idea what to do with this list as I am completely RUBBISH when it comes to music. But, it’s all about getting creative and interpreting things in a way that suits you. So, ‘relax’ could be a list of things you do to relax, a list of music/movies/books that make you feel relaxed, maybe a post about something that’s happened and you can finally relax, or even a recipe because cooking makes you feel relaxed??! The possibilities are really endless.

So see you there?

I’ll be trying my best to keep up with this year’s prompts and linking up with the #Blogtober20 linky which will appear at the bottom of Mandi’s posts each day. I’m not entirely sure what will be popping out over the next few weeks, but who knows… amongst the pumpkins, hopefully I’ll have a few twinklers.

Ahh! I struggled with the prompts when I first looked at them but then I got my thinking cap on and I think only a couple so far are about music. lol x

  2. Mandi says:

Haha I am also winging it! I now have a couple scheduled but yesterday afternoon I was still writing today’s!

  3. Good luck! I didn’t end up following prompts and instead kept my posts Autumn themed and Halloween Themed.

  4. I am hoping to dip in and out of these very cool prompts as we go! Looking forward to reading more from you x

  5. Oh, heavens, I have so much admiration for bloggers who manage to post every.single.day! All the best to you!

  6. Nice to catch up with you again. It’s mad how quick the year has gone by. Enjoy Blogtober.

  7. Jeanne says:

What an admirable goal! I’m sure that those who complete it really improve their writing! I don’t think I could fit a post a day into my current schedule, but perhaps in a future year. Good luck to all who try!

  8. Hannah says:

Oh gosh I could never keep up with a post a day!!! #dreamteam

  9. Rosie Doal says:

I tried Blogmasa couple of years ago and only managed 14 out of 24 so I don’t think I’d be able to do this. I love the idea though and the prompts are great x #DreamTeam

  12. A great list of prompts to keep you busy for October. Autumn has come in so quickly this year #dreamteam.

  13. Lydia C. Lee says:

Good for you. I might try to do one of those themes a week for Dreamteam link up. I like to write to a prompt (esp if it’s one that doesn’t interest me much) as it pushes me out of my comfort zone…and into some interesting places.

  14. Tracey Carr says:

Hi Annette! Big admiration for taking part in the challenge. It looks like brilliant fun and I only wish I had that sort of time to try it myself but things are so busy at the moment. Who knows maybe next year! I love the music theme, it’s so creative and great potential for a lot of fun posts. Looking forward to reading some of yours!! #dreamteam

    • Hi Tracey! Lovely to catch up with you. It’s a lot of fun, but these days I’m just taking things as they come. I’ve already managed to skip a few days, but it’s the thought that counts right? You’ve got your hands full.. with the most wonderful thing. Enjoy! xx

  15. I always admire those who write so much for Blogtober! Excited to read the rest! #dreamteam

  16. Kirsty Hall says:

I will try and join in with at least some of these #DreamTeamLinky

  17. Crummy Mummy says:

Hats off to you – I could never manage this! I’m managing just one post a week at the moment! #DreamTeamLinky
